Englewood Helping Hand is a community supported social services agency that provides short-term assistance to Englewood residents, including residents of the Gulf Cove, Rotonda, Placida, and Grove City areas of Englewood. Assistance includes help with food, rent, electric and water, prescription medications, and referrals. Helping Hand is also a food stamp and Medicaid ACCESS site.
You may be eligible if you are low income or your family recently had a crisis such as loss of employment.
A request for food assistance must be accompanied by a picture ID and proof of Englewood area residency. Call Monday through Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Englewood Helping Hand is located on the grounds of the Englewood United Methodist Church. Every tenth week during the year, our church provides volunteers to inventory donations and fill food bags. A sign-up sheet is usually posted in the Education Wing for those who wish to assist for a day. Our Co-Captains are Bob Rohrbaugh and Dana Hanson.
Donations of food are accepted at the front doors in the narthex.
