Closet of Hope 

THE CLOSET OF HOPE  IS OPEN 

The Closet of Hope at Gulf Cove United Methodist Church offers free clothing for children and adults of all ages.

 The Closet is open the first and third Saturdays of the month (except holidays), from 9:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. 

Donations may be made on Saturdays when the Closet is open, or on any Thursday at 9:30am.

Closet of Hope - Clothing for the needy.

Who may receive clothing?

Anyone who has felt a need for clothing may receive clothing. There are no economic qualifications. Sometimes just getting needed clothing can make a difference in the budget. We provide gently used clothing and shoes for infants, teens and adults.

“I needed clothes, and you clothed me, I was sick, and you looked after me, I was in prison, and you came to visit me.”

Contribute

There are a few important ways you can help.
  • Donate quality, up-to-date clothing, talk to your neighbors, families, teenagers & friends; see if they would consider cleaning out their closets & donating items.
  • Purchase items for donation such as underwear, socks, or shoes. (These items must be NEW.)
  • Make a financial donation to the “Closet of Hope”.
  • Get the word out that “Closet of Hope” is available in our community to serve those in need.

Donate your time.

We need:
  • Sorters – The clothing that comes in each week must be sorted and hung up.
  • Staff – On the days the “Closet of Hope” is open, the staff help those who come in for clothes find their clothes, as well giving instructions on the shopping process. They are encouraged to smile and interact with those who come in as much as possible. Some staff may function as “crowd control,” and others talk and play with the children who come in with their parents.

Closet of Hope 

THE CLOSET OF HOPE WILL REOPEN ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 2. 

They still ask that NO donations be made yet – with one exception:  they are in need of socks. 

They will be open on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays, from 9:30am-12:00pm. 

They are not imposing any limitations at this time. 

If anyone would like to volunteer to help in the Closet ministry, contact Sandy Palmer at the info below, as they are short-handed during the summer months.
