Music and art allow the joy of God to flow freely. At Gulf Cove UMC, we have two distinct music teams and a handbell choir. Our music teams work to match the music to the weekly sermon, allowing the message to flow freely.
"Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet; Praise Him with the lute and harp! Praise Him with the timbrel and dance; Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes! Praise Him with loud cymbals; Praise Him with clashing cymbals! Let everything that has breath praise the Lord."
-Ps.150:3-6
Our traditional services at 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM includes beautiful, traditional hymns and music. The music director is Roy Engle. Roy and the choir have rehearsals 6:30 PM on Thursdays in Building B. We sing everything from Gabreili to Gospel! Ages 10 - 100 are welcome! You can contact our Music Director, Roy, at 239-543-3109 or by email at RoyCues@gmail.com
Our contemporary service at 9:30 AM rocks the house in joy under the leadership of Joe Pariseau. Joe and the praise team rehearse every Wednesday at 6:30 PM. Joe & team are always looking for new people to help us raise the roof and excite the people to participate. Many Sundays you will see folks from the congregation join the Praise Team on the alter with their tambourines or joyous voices.
Our handbell choir is under the direction of Angela Navarro. The handbell choir rehearses from fall through spring and performs at several special worship events. NEW MEMBERS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME! Requirements: Eyesight good enough to distinguish between a line note and a space note, and the ability to count to twelve! We will teach you the rest! The Handbells rehearse on Thursdays at 5:00 PM in Building B.
